Drawing a new Haus of Meat. Trying out something different this time -- roughing out the characters in one layer, then roughing out clothes, accessories, etc. in another layer. Then shift the transparencies down on both of them until I can plop a third layer over the top and do the final linework on top with a fine point brush tool.
I've pretty much stopped using paper entirely for Haus of Meat, whereas with the last lot of Shit Happens I did I was drawing everything out in pencil, scanning it, and then inking over the top in Photoshop. Both methods are good, but Haus of Meat is supposed to have a much looser feel to it than Shit Happens; veering away from the style I'd been building up and going off towards a more cartoony realm. |

(This was the first script I ever wrote for Shit Happens, back in 2003 -- the characters are very different, but some wordiness aside it's still a script I was really, really, happy with. The Something Positive influences show through in a lot of parts, and that's a good thing.) |
